We were able to check off our wishes. It seemed like we have been on 5 different holidays instead of one. The personal touch and contact with both Iris and Lucia felt very comfortable, familiar and safe.

The variety of accommodation was pleasant. Our stay at the finca stands out for all of us. The location, tranquility, people, atmosphere, as well as the early birding with Bajardo (= topper).

In terms of activities, everything was top notch and I was glad that most of them were booked in advance, so we didn't have to pay attention to the prices. Really great holiday! Thanks!

The program provided a perfect balance between activities planned in advance and free time to explore the area on our own. Moreover, it gave us a broad and varied idea of the country. We found it very reassuring that we were contacted immediately by the local contact person and that she also kept us informed of any changes. The transport was always right on time. Perfect!
The hotels were also great: small-scale and each with its own character.

The trip was great! no disappointments anywhere, everything went smoothly and on time, perfectly planned.

The location (especially the beach), the surfing and the delicious food was top for me, my son loved the waterfalls and swimming in the mountains.

Our stay in the tree house was the most amazing experience!  We received a flashlight and a walkie talkie to walk to our tree house and in the morning 6 Green Macaws woke us up!

The nature and the respect with which the Costa Ricans treat nature and animals is really special. And the birds! I have become a huge bird lover this trip. I couldn't imagine before the trip that you can be so happy when you see a Macaw or Quetzal.

We really enjoyed this trip; amazing experience; unbelievably beautiful scenery, the animals, the activities ... it was perfect.

Rafting was great!!!! But all the activities were great. There is not one tour we regret doing.

Walking around the castle at Bayona was a real treat! The idea of sleeping in such an ancient dwelling was thrilling!

We got to know YŪGEN at the holiday fair in Antwerp. Iris talked to us about Costa Rica, her enthusiasm was infectious and hence our choice.

"Our travel itinerary was perfectly balanced and varied. More comfortable accommodations alternated with more basic ones where we could fully enjoy nature. We also liked the travel route: from culture via nature to beaches. We thought all the activities were special but the absolute best moment was very different for each family member. Margot liked the horseback riding tour and the visit to the pirate cave best, Kathleen the visit to the Bribri tribe, Caroline the first encounter with the rainforest and the pirate cave and Patrick the early coffee on the terrace of the tree house, accompanied by the views and sounds of the rainforest.
We chose YŪGEN because of the unique approach: Iris first tried to understand what we would like our trip to be like and only then she started putting together our custom-made travel itinerary, taking into account the time of year in which we were traveling. "Our first hotel in Carara had a gorgeous garden so we immediately had a beautiful welcome upon arrival. The lodge in Monteverde had a fantastic location and a blissful breakfast spot! Tortuguero and the boat tour were superbe! The trail on the hotel premises in La Fortuna was fun too...there were too many amazing things and places to sum up:-). The views from the hanging bridges in Monteverde gave us a real wow-moment.

"We really enjoyed Porto City and the beautiful hotel there. The canyoning was well-arranged too, we had so much fun.
The vegetarian picnic which we requested was delicious. It consisted of a special omelette with leek and mushrooms on a bed of salad with a vinaigrette sauce. There were also locally grown berries, grapes and small pears, tomato and mozzarella skewers, typical corn bread and cheese of the region and a bag of nuts. For drinks we had lemon water with fresh mint." 

"It was wonderful! Cycling in the university garden was great, we saw a lot, very nice guides, lots of fun information. Also in Corcovado we had a nice hotel, very nice people, great food, fantastic walks, impressive thunderstorms, beautiful sunsets. In Carara National Park we had a very good guide, seen a lot what you would miss without a guide. Iris, it was all very well thought out and arranged, we enjoyed it and are happy to get back to you for a trip to The Azores."
